U is for: Utopia

Utopia: the perfect civilization, governed by humane and compassionate rulers whose aim is to nurture and perfect its citizens. (Term dates from the 16th century, when Sir Thomas More created an island by that name and then titled his book after it.)

If I could create a utopia, it'd look a lot like heaven because I'm kind of a Jesus freak; plus, we'd all have our own self-sufficient islands with jet skis to go visit each other. Lots of beaches. There would be an eternity to read, as well as teleport to various parts of the universe. And we'd eat brownies without gaining weight...even the kind with frosting and chocolate chips...

If you were going to create a utopia, what would it look like?

Pretty much like yours! I'd also add in Willy Wonka-esque edible trees, maybe a chocolate river too.

I think I'll learn the leasons I'm here to learn and then reture in Heaven. There, we can build a house with our mind and visit by simply thinking we'd like to. Blog on!

I'm a Jesus freak too and I think your utopia sounds just dandy!

You know, I've never read Utopia. I really ought to add that to my tbr pile :) As for what my personal utopia would look like, I'm not sure, that will require some thought.

Utopia would have just enough peace, just enough conflict to make you appreciate the peace, just enough joy, just enough sorrow to make you appreciate the joy, and all the people I love and who make me feel good about myself and the world. I have too many "toxic" people in my real life, they wouldn't be allowed in my Utopia. :)

And a perpetually-replenishing library of books, movies, and music!

I actually have a theory that all utopias becomes dystopias in the end (it's my V topic). But if I had to make one, it would probably involve reading all day long.

Ooh, Jesus and jetskis. I'd live in that Utopia. :)

I like the brownies. (If you made it a brownie batter Blizzard from the DQ, I'd be there.) And beaches are not so bad, but I'm not a big heat and sun person, so hopefully there'll be some shade provided. :)

There would be no such thing as whining in my utopia.

It would be a world where people were nice to each other, where neighbors always waved with a bright smile, and where people didn't feel the need to bring others down. Now THAT"S Utopia!

Utopia would be a place that was truly governed by the words An Harm Ye None Do As Thou Wilt (which is really very close to Do Unto Others As You Would Have Others Do Unto You).
